Instead, we embarked on a hike along the cliffs that overlook this dramatic chasm. The atmosphere was calming and fresh, with a cold, chilled air that invigorated our senses. The gentle breeze added to the experience, creating a refreshing environment that perfectly complemented the stunning scenery.
One of the most memorable moments during our hike was after passing through the Cultural Village and trekking beyond the gorges. From a particular vantage point, we were treated to a breathtaking view of the entire gorge beneath us, its intricate carvings and deep cuts showcasing nature’s remarkable spirit. Although the spa is manmade, it is fed by hot water and steam from the adjacent geothermal plant, which taps into the steam trapped beneath the ground to generate electricity. After passing through the plant, the hot water is channeled into the spa, creating a natural-feeling oasis where visitors can enjoy the soothing and healing properties of the mineral-rich water.
Playing in the spa’s warm waters, we experienced the shifting temperatures as the water waved between hot, extra hot, and back to hot. It was a unique and exhilarating sensation, and we found ourselves forming playful circles in the pool, enjoying the therapeutic benefits of the water. The spa’s setting, surrounded by the dramatic landscape of Hell’s Gate, added to the overall experience, making it a perfect end to our day of exploration.
